Moving…

In my opinion, the worst part of finding a fab new place is the MOVING that goes along with it! I have found that when the time comes to pack your belongings up, it is a great opportunity to do some deep cleaning!

First, look at what you have. Make piles for what you use sometimes, rarely, or never. I have gotten to the point where I only keep the things that I use all the time! But this is solely because I hate moving so much and will do anything to pack/unpack, lift, and carry as little as possible.

This method of packing/moving is also an easy way to reduce clutter in your home and reduce the number of not so willing people you have asked to help you move, making the situation a little more tolerable for everyone involved.

Mavi Unlimited would love to hear your tips for making moving easier!

How do you like your coffee?

Gary Haber, writer for the Baltimore Business Journal, reports what experts are saying about the coffee selection, or lack of, in the workplace; ”Coffee can either be a perk that fuels employee morale or an annoyance that steams up workers to the point where they feel alienated and disgruntled.”

Why is coffee so important? Haber later goes on to explain that “coffee is an important part of the social fabric, in the office and elsewhere” and can be the first thing you offer to a client.

Haber does offer a solution to this perpetual predicament. He suggests an alternative to the coffee pot, like the Flavia machines, which offer coffee drinkers a ”single-serve coffee packets that are inserted into the machine to make individual cups of coffee.” (Read more).

Going Green… As an Investment

RECYCLE, Turn off/ Unplug items that are not in use, Use Re-use-able bags, Carpool…  We are continually reminded about the benefits of going green that we could recite them in our sleep.  Would you ever think that an environmentally friendly or “green” building would have the same effects?

Chris Palmeri reviews a study done at San Diego State University where research found “tenants in green buildings experience increased productivity and fewer sick days” and “that green buildings have lower vacancy rates and higher rents than non-green counterparts” (read more).
