Effective April 30th 2010 contractors and property owners/managers that do not follow the revised Lead Based Paint regulations during renovation could be fined up to $32,500 per day!

Are you familiar with the new regulations? Here is a basic run down of a few crucial points you should be aware of when dealing with renovation.
- Housing built in 1978 or later are excluded.
- Renovators must be trained and certified by an accredited EPA program.
- Minor repairs (6 sq. ft. or less inside or 20 sq. ft. or less outside) are exempt.
- Informational pamphlets need to be distributed before renovation.
- Informational signs need to be posted describing the renovation and include the dates.
- Failure to follow the regulations will lead to fines of up to $32,500 per day.
